About the Role :

The Cloud Ops Engineer administers and engineers server solutions or applications in support of Umpqua Bank initiatives, providing high-level customer service to bank associates and assisting other TAG teams on technical issues.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare system solution designs, implement and maintain complex enterprise-class systems and applications.
• Analyze infrastructure performance for capacity planning in both public (Microsoft Azure) and private cloud environments.
• Participate in vulnerability remediation and Disaster Recovery planning.
• Implement Infrastructure As Code (IAC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
• Measure and improve performance, uptime, cost, stability, and other operational characteristics of cloud-based systems.
• Write runbooks and rehearse scenarios for efficient incident response.
• Research, analyze, recommend, and implement solutions within scope.
• Share on-call duties after hours and weekends to respond to emergency outages in Azure.
• Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations and keep up to date on regulation changes.
• May coach, mentor, or train others as a subject matter expert.

About You :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent required.

4-7 years’ experience in system or network engineering with a proven track record.

Strong coordination, organization, troubleshooting, and communication abilities required.

Proven experience with building and maintaining cloud systems and infrastructure.

Familiarity with Git and understanding of version control and code review.

Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.

Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Salt Stack, Bicep, or other IAC tools.

Experience building, deploying, and hosting applications in a major cloud provider like Azure.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Very strong customer service orientation.

MCP / MCSA / MCSE certifications preferred.

Workstyle : Fully onsite.

We offer a competitive total rewards package, including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $74,418.

00 to $116,943.20, based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
