Internal Job Title : Senior Electrical Designer

Job Purpose

The Sr Electrical Designer is responsible for developing electrical projects of Cubicles. The activity includes the development of electrical schemes, diagrams, lists of materials and physical arrangements of equipment in cubicles, sizing and selection of components, electrical calculations, development of logical diagrams and analysis of technical requirements.

Job Context

Works in partnership and collaboration with the Sales, Production, PM and Supply teams, understanding customer needs and project specifications, proposing viable technical solutions.

Job Dimensions

• The activities of the SR Electrical Designer are basically performed at the Plant;
• If necessary, participates in face-to-face or online technical meetings with the client;
• Technically approves projects with the client;
• Presents economical technical alternatives for optimizing projects;
• Guides other JR and PL designers on technical issues, when necessary;
• Assists the Sales Area proposing technical solutions, within the scope of the function;
• Reports to the Engineering Manager.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare electrical projects following customer specifications;
• Prepare calculation reports for equipment sizing;
• Prepare logical protection and control diagrams;
• Create drawings and electrical diagrams using CAD and Electronic tools;
• Monitor the execution of projects;
• Collaborate with other departments such as : Sales, Production, PM and Supply.
• Performs critical analysis of the scope of supply from technical and commercial aspects;
• Conducts studies and analysis of electrical requirements for project development;
• Participates in technical meetings with customers;
• Prepares the specification of electrical equipment;
• Creates dimensional drawings and electrical diagrams using CAD and Eletron software;
• Monitors the execution of projects, ensuring that technical specifications and standards are being observed and followed;

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

The SR Electrical Designer needs to have the following profile to perform the role :

• Electrical technician formation. Desirable for degree in electrical engineering.
• Experience of 5 years or more in the activity of electrical projects for medium voltage and low voltage panels.
• Knowledge of CAD tools for developing electrical projects, including Eletron software.
• Knowledge of protection systems.
• Knowledge of protection and control logic diagrams.
• Knowledge in parameterization of protection relays.
• In-depth electrical knowledge such as voltage, power current, power factor, electrical commands, logical and functional diagrams, electrical power systems, coordination and selectivity studies, among others, compatible with professional experience and area of activity.
