Position : Sr. Manager Commercial Accounting Brazil

Location : São Paulo, SP

SUMMARY :

The Senior Accounting Manager leads the process to ensure proper US GAAP and statutory accounting & reporting for Brazil.

This position is also responsible for designing and maintaining the Country’s overall internal control environment and alignment with accounting policies.

Additionally, the Accounting Manager supports compliance activities and provides support to the financial & management teams in Brazil as needed to address issues that affect accounting and financial reporting.

This position reports to the Global Commercial Controller and has a dotted line reporting to the Director Finance of the Country.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES FOR THE ROLE :

• Oversee the accounting & analysis for key Commercial area balance sheet & P&L;
• Ensure accounting is completed accurately & timely and all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and unusual items are resolved on a timely basis.
• Ensure that the focus is on US GAAP accounting while maintaining compliance with local requirements.
• Perform analysis of Commercial area balance sheet and income statement variances.
• Ensure that the Commercial accounting control environment is maintained and / or enhanced as the business needs and processes change.
• Coordinate the SOX Commercial accounting processes including documentation updates, testing and quarterly certification.
• Guarantee with the team to ensure all taxes (direct & indirect) are properly recorded and reported to the government.
• Validate calculation for the Accounting responsibilities and reconciliation for Fiscal responsibilities.
• Support / lead the implementation of IT or business projects that impact accounting and financial reporting in the Country.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance or directly related field, and CPA designation preferred.
• Experience in progressive Accounting & finance.
• Knowledge in US GAAP and SOX Compliance, with previous experience in multinational companies.
• Ability to leverage business systems (Dynamics, SAP, ERP in general) and Excel.
• Advanced or fluent English, Spanish is desirable.
• Ability to interact and communicate with employees in foreign and corporate offices.
• Availability to work in a hybrid format in São Paulo.
