Person Specification

Education, Qualifications and / or Training

Essential

• BSc in Dietetics or equivalent
• Current registration as Dietitian with HCPC
• Postgraduate training in Paediatric Dietetics

Desirable

• Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) Obesity Specialist Group
• Study in behavioural therapy

Experience

Essential

• Proven clinical experience following graduation, including at least one year's experience in managing children and young adults on home enteral feeding
• Experience of training student dietitians
• Working as part of a team
• Previous experience in research and audit
• Experience of developing dietetic service
• Extensive experience in outpatient clinics

Desirable

Post-registration experience of managing children on home enteral feeding, allergy, and faltering growth.

Knowledge and Skills

• Sound clinical knowledge
• Evidence of CPD, e.g., advanced diploma in dietetic practice or equivalent short courses
• Sound knowledge of current issues relating to children on home enteral feeding
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Good presentation skills

• Ability to liaise with professionals at all levels
• Computer literacy
