Mechanical Instructor

Job Description Wood is currently recruiting for aMechanical Instructor with a strong understanding of operationstraining requirements to be based in Basra, Iraq on a 28 Days on / 28 Days Off Rotation.

Responsibilities Instructor Duties &Responsibilities : - Prepare training programs and managepresentation materials / equipment.

• Perform Gap analysis on thecompetency level of the company workforce and develop a trainingprogram closing the gaps as per the company competency levelrequirements.
• Deliver training efficiently with strong focus onOil & Gas assets. - Present training material in aprofessional, interesting, and stimulating manner - Develop andpublish different levels of training programs to satisfy thecompany needs which include Classroom and OJT activities.
• DeliverIndividual competency development training with a holistic approachwhich includes SHE and WMS considerations in accordance with theclient and Iraq government regulations as well as industry systemsas applicable.
• Assess the students’ capabilities and modifyprogram material / presentation as needed to maximize the student’slearning’s.
• Maintain program performance, completion, attendance,evaluation records and perform LMS data input functions as definedby the client Training Management.
• Interface and coordinatetraining activities with the Company, and other personnel toeffectively achieve program presentations and completionobjectives.
• Ensure all students engage positively in learningexperience. - Assist and encourage students who experiencedifficulties.
• Assess student’s capabilities and modify programpresentation as needed to maximize students’ learning’s. - Maintainprogram performance, completion, attendance, evaluation records andperform LMS data input functions as defined by client HR TrainingManagement - Operate training facilities instructional andpresentation equipment.
• Ensure all developed training material ispresented for archiving by the Document Controller. CraftAssessment & Responsibilities - Work with Training Supervisorand Discipline Superintendent to establish / review assessmentcriteria.
• Conduct assessments on O&M personnel to establishgaps in craft competencies. - Conduct assessments in aprofessional, interesting, and stimulating manner.
• Ensure allstudents engage positively in assessment experience. - Assist andencourage students to provide evidence of prior formal training andprevious work experience.
• Modify assessment process as needed tomaximize students’ involvement. - Maintain up to date records ofall assessments planned and completed.
• Ensure all developedassessment material is presented for archiving by the DocumentController Qualifications Education : University Degree : Anydiscipline & Accredited Assessor license Technical SkillsRequired - Strong oil & gas upstream operational, technical, orsupervisory background - Knowledgeable of / competent with basicupstream oil & gas operational programs - Competent / experienced with upstream oil & gas and craft trainingprograms.
• Strong training presentation, coordination, evaluation,& planning skills - Competent computer skills; presentation,spreadsheets, document preparation - Proven competence withprocedure development and presentation software - Has provenability to communicate technical information and procedures tostudents of varying levels Personal Skills - A minimum of 10 yearsin a similar role with 5 years’ experience OJT / ClassroomTraining.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Upstream andDownstream businesses. - Preferably holds an accredited AssessorQualification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. -Good interpersonal skills, able to work in multi-culture andmulti-company environments.
