We are looking for an Actuary / Actuarial analyst to support the company in our Actuarial & Performance Management department.

The Actuarial department of Munich Re do Brasil, a part of the CFO division, is responsible for performing and overseeing the calculation and monitoring processes of actuarial reserves, Solvency KPI’s and regulatory requirements of the Brazilian subsidiary, which operates with reinsurance and retrocession of a wide range of lines of business (both Life & Non-life), supporting local management in the analysis and forecasting exercise of different aspects of the operation, serving as a valuable asset to the company’s strategic decision process.

You will also be in close relationship with the Munich Re Group Headquarters in Munich and other relevant Hub’s, participating in global initiatives and processes, as well as supporting other local internal stakeholders, such as Underwriting, Client Management, Claims, Risk Management and other Back Office departments.

You will work in the Actuarial & Performance Management area, responsible for Reserving, Capital and Solvency Management, Retrocession structuring and performance management at Munich Re do Brasil.

Your main responsibilities will be :

• Data preparation procedures : extraction, processing, storage and distribution.
• Creation of automated routines using R, VBA, PowerQuery, PowerPivot.
• Reviewing, improving, documenting and automating processes in the area.
• Monthly closing activities for technical provisions and retrocession assets (SUSEP GAAP), developing studies to revise methodologies and actuarial assumptions.
• Creating and maintaining reports in PowerBI.
• Interacting with various areas of the company in Brazil and Germany : Underwriting, Client Management, Claims, Risk Management and other Back Office departments.
• Support in preparing executive presentations on local results (P&L SUSEP GAAP) and group reporting (IFRS17).

YOUR PROFILE

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
• Analytical and hands-on profile, organized, curious and willing to learn.
• Ability to communicate numbers clearly and objectively.
• Skill with data is essential.
• Programming skills in, at least, one of the following languages : R, Python, SAS, VBA.
• Knowledge of technical provisions and SUSEP regulatory aspects.
• Knowledge of insurance / reinsurance accounting and IFRS 17 is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of reinsurance is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Data Visualization tools (Power BI or similar) is highly desirable.
• If an actuary, MIBA registration is highly desirable.
• Advanced English. Fluent English is a plus.
